I have been posting some of my creations on my personal Instagram since forever, ok not so often tho, but still that counts.
However, when I decided to launch my other page @kitcheninlondon I didn't thought about having a blog or even posting recipes (just in case if you're just looking for a Snickers bites recipe, scroll down, it will be in bold).
Also I mentioned that I am not a chef or a blogger, or food reviewer and to add to this not a photographer either. I do something that I enjoy and that makes me happy. So simple, isn't it?
As this blog is brand new and fresh, I wasn't sure what recipes I would like to post here. I have to say your're not going to find all of my recipes here, but you can get in touch with me via e-mail, or straight by DM on Instagram. Why? Because I don't want to go backwards, so I can keep my posts and blog in the same time frame. Easier for you and also easier for me. As I mentioned before, this platform is a trial for now, I might go for something easier in the future. I have seen so much beautiful blogs with really nice layouts, have to do some investigation there.
But I think these bites deserve to be here, so you will find all ingredients in the next chapter. Also I really liked every single photo so I wanted to share a few of them with you.
Ingredients:
1 cup dates (soaked for 1 hour)
1/2 cashews (soaked overnight)
1 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp maple syrup or peanut butter
150 grams chocolate (any choice)
1 cup salted peanuts
A pinch of salt
A good option is vegan chocolate because it's so tasty. I had no idea before until I made my own one.
No baking involved here. You just need a silicone baking mould or silicone baking cups and a freezer.
In a blender put oats and 1/4 cup soaked dates, add a pinch of salt. Blend until you get a smooth mixture. Add mixture in each cup and press it well. I made 8 bites but that depends on how thin you want the base to be.
In the blender put the rest of dates and add maple syrup. Blend until the mixture becomes smooth. Put it as a next layer. Place them in the freezer for 10 minutes. In the meantime, melt the chocolate or make your own (it's softer). Stir in peanuts and put it on the top of each cup.
Place them in a fridge for an hour and the're ready.
Instead of oats you can use 1 cup of almond meal.
I tried to use paper tins, but that's not a good idea as you have to press the bottom layer (you can place the liners in a silicone mould if you want to).
If you want to you can make real Snickers bars (I just wanted to go for something unusual), just add 1st and 2nd layer to the baking tray, freeze it, cut it and dip it in a chocolate.
Enjoy!
